WHO ARE YOUR
NOMINEES?

Daniel Kikulwe
How long have you been attending New Life?
4 years
In what areas of the church do you serve?
Started off with the Bible study group and didn't get attendees and the timing wasn't right for Sandra and I. Also at
the time when Sandra and I started to serve at the coffee bar, we experienced a second major family loss where we decided to take some time to grief and heal. So I have been waiting upon God to prepare the right time to serve Him.
Why are you willing to serve as a board member in our church?
My obedience to God to be involved in His work. Equally important, God has been faithful through the valleys and on the hill tops. Lastly, Sandra and I have finally come to a conclusion that this is our church where comfortably worship.

In what areas of the church do you serve?
I serve in a few different areas. On Sundays, I work the coffee bar and the welcome desk - both are great ways to connect with people, catch up with friends, meet new faces, and hopefully brighten someone's day. I also help run the Alpha course, which gives me the chance to have deeper conversations about faith, God, and life, and help others explore their questions in a meaningful way. Beyond that, I love helping people practically - I drive folks to church from as far away as Cambridge, and make sure that those without transportation can attend special events, and being someone people can talk to in private when they’re going through a hard time. I’ve also developed a friendship with someone in our church who has an intellectual disability, acting as their 'Big Brother’, with calls and in-person support throughout the week. So I serve in many ways, but I’m always hoping it’s in ways that really matter to people.
Why are you willing to serve as a board member in our church?
I’m willing to serve on the board because I care deeply about our church community and want to help it thrive. Serving on the board gives me the chance to contribute in a bigger way - supporting our leadership, helping make thoughtful decisions, and ensuring our ministries continue to reach and impact people. I see it as a way to use the gifts, time, and experiences God has given me to serve not just in one area, but for the whole church. As a newer Christian, I bring a perspective shaped by real struggles and the grace I’ve experienced, and I hope that insight can help guide decisions in ways that reach people who might feel overlooked or lost.

In what areas of the church do you serve?
I volunteer on the Welcome Team, help out with the Men's Ministry & Time of Your Life and the Brantford Blessing Center. I also help with repairs that need to be done around the church, when I can.
Why are you willing to serve as a board member in our church?
I have previously served on the board and know what an honour it is to serve in this position. Being nominated tells me people have faith in me, which leads me to trust in God, as to where he would have me serve.
